Coming soon is the Tata Safari EV, which has been seen with an enhanced cabin design. Latest spy pictures have exposed the vehicle to have a triple screen on its dashboard, implying that the coming electric SUV from Tata will boast a tech-filled cabin compared to the current ICE SUV Safari.
Three Screens For A More Premium Cabin
Of course, the biggest highlight here is that there will be an extra screen for the front passenger. It is likely to have a driver’s display of 10.25 inches along with the central touchscreen of 12.3 inches and another 12.3-inch passenger screen. This would be a similar configuration that is being offered by the Tata Sierra EV.
In fact, this passenger screen could enable the co-driver to play some entertainment stuff or games.
Parts of Harrier EV Can Be Common
The Safari EV will likely have similar battery packs of 65kWh and 75kWh capacity as the Harrier EV. The former delivers power of 238hp and torque of 315Nm from the single motor, and up to 313hp and 504Nm from the dual motor configuration.
The Harrier EV has a claimed range from 538km to 627km. The Safari EV will have some different statistics due to its bigger three-row design and extra weight.
Technology Will Be Increased Further
In addition to the triple screen design, the Safari EV model will borrow many of the technologies from the Harrier EV, such as Level 2 ADAS, 540-degree camera system, auto-park assist and connected-car technology. V2L and V2V power sharing functions can also be available.
When Will The Safari EV Make Its Debut?
According to reports, the Safari EV will be unveiled by Tata in the festive season. It will serve as the company’s flagship electric SUV along with being the first three-row electric vehicle from the company.
Our View
Triple screen can very well emerge as one of the Safari EV’s strongest USPs. Most importantly, the setup reflects that Tata Motors has positioned the electric Safari not merely as the battery-driven version of the current SUV.
With three-row versatility, anticipated Harrier EV inspired technology and a tech-rich cabin, the Safari EV might turn out to be a crucial addition to Tata’s growing lineup of electric SUVs. In any case, details of the battery, features, and pricing have still to be confirmed.
